SJSBA hosts two competitive events annually. Our flagship event is the Ventura Bodysurfing Classic in which 100+ men and women competitors ages 2-80 years old compete at the South Jetty of the Ventura Harbor in December. This event is known for its powerful waves and cold water.

 

Our newest event is the Zuma Beach Bodysurfing Classic held at Zuma beach, California in the late spring. Zuma Beach is an iconic beach break in which powerful southern hemisphere swells break with intensity.

 

The highlight of these events are the “Grommet” divisions where young children participate in many unique and fun beach activities along with showcasing their developing bodysurfing skills.
